For a long time I denied that I had a fear of standing up in front of a group of people!

Once I acknowledged this, that is, the REALITY of my situation, I was then able to confront this within myself – and then to do something about it by putting myself in situations where I can confront this fear!

By not being real with myself and in my relationships and my daily life, I waste so much energy, time and effort! This approach means I am trying to cling to life – and all it does is feed my fears and insecurities. 🙁

As a result of this approach, I tend to give away my personal power, that is, the way I feel about myself. By allowing this to happen TO me, I then am also blindly accepting what people tell me.

On the other hand, by accepting my reality, that is, what is REAL-ly going on within me, I am able to let go of preconceived ideas that keep me stuck and that drain me, which then of course leaves me open to explore new aspects of who I am, and as a result I gain my own personal knowledge.

With THIS new approach to my life, I increase the balance in my personal power bank account 🙂

With this new approach to my life, I take responsibility for who I am, and for my own challenges.

So what do I mean by being REAL?

A practical example:

For a long time I denied that I had a fear of standing up in front of a group of people! Once I acknowledged this, that is, the REALITY of my situation, I was then able to confront this within myself – and then to do something about it by putting myself in situations where I can confront this fear!

For example, I offered to take over a public presentation from my overloaded colleague – and for the first time in my life did a presentation in Spanish!!

Since then I have been in situations where I have had to be vulnerable enough to allow myself to be exposed – and each time the fear becomes “less worse” LOL!

The upside is that each time I have done this, acknowledged first, and then confronted my fears, I have experienced an increasing confidence with each step – and with each step I have taken, this has allowed me to claim more personal power for myself, that is, I feel stronger and stronger within myself! 🙂
